On the night of January 5th, Valve released an update for CS 2, addressing several gameplay issues and adjusting sticker wear to align more closely with CS:GO.

  • Fixed a delay when loading map images in the "Play" menu.
  • Items that cannot be used will no longer appear in the equipment menu.
  • Addressed an issue where equipment items couldn't be unequipped.
  • Changes to equipment now persist even if the game is closed soon after alterations.
  • Resolved a delay when changing character equipment in the main menu.
  • Improved demo playback and fixed visual issues.
  • Fixed an animation issue in CSTV broadcasts.
  • Some community stickers now have adjusted wear levels to better match CS:GO.
  • Simplified grenade collision with angled surfaces and the central column at point B on the Ancient map.
  • Adjusted clipping at point A on Anubis.

Previously, Valve conducted a significant wave of bans in CS 2, impacting many cheaters, including the world leaderboard's top player. According to information from Maxim "Gabe Follower" Poltayev, many banned players were using a no-spread function.
