Team Liquid held a series of winning tournaments in the summer of 2019 and won four consecutive championships from the Intel Grand Slam Season 2 series: IEM Sydney 2019, DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals and ESL One Cologne 2019. After Team Liquid quickly earned a bonus of $ 1,000,000 and received champion rings with gold bars, the organizers of the event decided to make the victory process in the third season of Intel Grand Slam much more difficult.
