American rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg (Calvin Broadus Jr.) is leaving the organization FaZe Clan

Snoop Dogg (Calvin Broadus Jr.), an American rapper and entrepreneur, has left the board of directors of FaZe Clan, as reported in an SEC filing by the North American esports organization.

The change is effective immediately, meaning Snoop is no longer affiliated with the company in any way.

Snoop Dogg joined FaZe Clan as a content creator and board member just over a year ago in March 2022. At the time, FaZe was on the verge of going public, and the partnership with Snoop Dogg seemed like a good idea for both parties. Snoop Dogg cited his son Cordell Broadus as the key intermediary in the deal, which included introducing Snoop to FaZe Clan.

However, a lot has changed in 2023. FaZe Clan's shares have significantly declined since the company went public in the summer of 2022, and there were also mass layoffs announced in early 2022. Additionally, the esports organization reported significant overall losses in its 2022 financial report.

FaZe Clan commented on Snoop's departure as follows: "On March 29, 2023, Calvin 'Snoop Dogg' Broadus Jr. notified FaZe Holdings Inc. that he was resigning from the company's Board of Directors immediately. Mr. Broadus's resignation was not the result of any disagreements with the Company or its affiliates."

Snoop Dogg was quite active during his time at FaZe. He created content with the company and worked on various communication programs. Before officially joining the company, he noticeably wore a FaZe Clan logo pendant during his Super Bowl halftime performance.

FaZe Clan, in turn, expressed its gratitude to Snoop for his contribution to the organization's development. The company also stated that it intends to continue working on improving its financial situation and increasing the value of its shares.

Snoop Dogg has not yet commented on his decision to leave FaZe Clan, but his departure comes at a time when the organization is on the brink of delisting from NASDAQ. However, the company is not giving up and continues to work on turning around its difficult financial situation.
