Zelda Series Producer Open to Franchise Adaptation for Screen

Denne artikel er tilgængelig på følgende sprog

The producer of The Legend of Zelda series, Eiji Aonuma, has expressed his desire to see a film adaptation of the franchise. With the overwhelming success of the Mario animated film, which has already grossed over $1.2 billion, there has been increasing interest in Nintendo game adaptations. The plans for potential film adaptations were previously mentioned by the creator of the Mario and Zelda series, and later confirmed by the president of Nintendo.

Now, it's the turn of the producer of Zelda to share his thoughts, although he acknowledged that his interest alone would not be enough to initiate the production of a film. Therefore, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the game director of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, advised viewers to make themselves heard in order for the company to notice their desire.

Thus far, the only Zelda adaptation that has been made was an animated series in 1989, which received criticism from fans for its poor script and character development. However, it did give rise to the famous meme, "Well excuse me, Princess!"

The game itself, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, has received highly positive reviews and has had a strong start in the UK, surpassing even Hogwarts Legacy in sales.
