Fan Creates Incredible Life-Sized 3D-Printed Replica of Halo Infinite's Gravity Hammer
A gamer dedicated several months to creating a life-sized, 3D-printed replica of Halo Infinite's Gravity Hammer. Released in late 2021, Halo Infinite is the sixth main entry in Xbox's flagship shooter series.
The Halo series is renowned for its iconic weapons, such as the Assault Rifle associated with Master Chief, and the formidable armaments wielded by the alien Covenant. Among these is the fan-favorite Covenant melee weapon, the Gravity Hammer, which one dedicated gamer meticulously recreated.
On the Halo subreddit, user Admiral_Forever showcased their life-sized, 3D-printed replica of Halo Infinite's Gravity Hammer. According to the post, the project took two months to model primarily using Blender and another month to print. The replica stands approximately 6'4" (1.93 meters) tall and weighs 23.8 pounds (10.8 kilograms), with the head and handle nearly equal in mass. The 3D model files are available for free online, though Admiral_Forever noted that printing it is a challenging task.
Life-Sized, 3D-Printed Replica of Halo Gravity Hammer
The Covenant Gravity Hammer is a massive, two-handed melee weapon used by the Brutes, the ape-like species from the now-disbanded Covenant alliance. It first appeared in 2004's Halo 2 as a special boss weapon that players couldn't wield. Since then, the Gravity Hammer has become a staple close-combat tool in the series and remains highly effective in Halo Infinite despite its slow speed. It also features prominently in the community-created Griffball game mode, similar to modern-day American rugby.
Many enthusiasts have used 3D printing technology to create remarkable Halo projects. For instance, Reddit user GalacticArmory spent two years making life-sized statues of Master Chief and the Arbiter. The Arbiter, voiced by Keith David and appearing in Halo 2 and Halo 3, is one of the series' most beloved characters, with a dedicated Easter egg in Halo Infinite.
A new Halo Infinite event, Operation: Tenrai 4, launched on June 4 and runs until July 2. This campaign features a 20-tier battle pass, including a new armor set, and a limited-time game playlist inspired by Japanese themes.
