Asian League-opdatering på VALORANT

According to insider Bo Hoogland, the Asia VALORANT Partner League will feature ten teams from five regions. The journalist also suggested the order in which regional invites to the local championship for teams from Asia will be issued.

According to sources, this is the most likely number of teams representing each region in the Asian affiliate program. Please note that this is only what sources within the organizations have said, and some say things can change 100%.

Most of my sources say that's what they heard. Although other sources heard disagreements, which are mainly related to South Korea, Japan and India. Where some were told that South Korea would probably get 3 slots, others said that India was not even mentioned.

So it seems like Riot Games is saying different things to different potential partners to make sure the absolutely correct information is not leaked. While the total number of allocated slots for South Korea, Japan and India varies between my sources, the number of slots for Southeast Asia as a whole has remained the same.

Given the information received, the partner league will appear before the audience in the following proportion:

  • Asia-Pacific: 3.
  • Japan: 3.
  • South Korea: 3.
  • India: 1.
  • Oceania: 1.

Some missing details:

  • One of the organizations claiming the slot from Southeast Asia had no previous connection with VALORANT.
  • Applications of some large organizations from the scene have already been rejected (most likely, we are talking about Paper Rex/XERXIA/BOOM/ONIC).
  • There is talk of TIER-2 leagues, where there will also be fixed minimum wages.

What's next for the VALORANT Partner League?

Earlier it was reported that more than 150 esports organizations submitted offers to Riot Games for the opportunity to join the partner program to participate in VALORANT next year. Just over 200 organizations expressed tentative interest, but some were unable to provide additional information to support their application. However, out of the 150 remaining, only a small number of teams will be able to partner with Riot Games.

However, their numbers are starting to drop sharply as some clubs have already reported being denied entry to the league by the developers.

A maximum of 10 teams will compete in the North America, Brazil and Latin America franchise league starting next year. However, this number is not final and may change. Organizations have also been allowed to apply for an additional region if needed, according to several sources. For example, G2 Esports has applied to join the European and American leagues.

In any case, the number of organizations that are left out of the league for next season will only increase in the coming weeks. At the same time, Riot Games is unlikely to abandon its original plans and change the number of participants.

The base location of the European league has yet to be determined, but the two candidates to host the championship are Berlin and Barcelona. Los Angeles is expected to host the American League and Seoul is expected to host the Asian League.
